A New Chapter

Duravit is opening its first North American production site in Matane, Quebec — the world's first climate-neutral ceramic production facility. Starting at the end of 2025, up to 450,000 ceramic parts per year are to be produced in a 35,000 square meter factory. Powered by hydropower and equipped with the world’s first electric roller kiln for ceramic production, this new site will cut approximately 11,000 tonnes of CO₂ emissions annually.

All materials used at Duravit are recyclable: sanitary ceramic can be re-purposed in different ways. For bathroom furniture, Duravit uses reusable raw materials such as ABS plastics, engineered wood, fittings, and glass — all incorporated into an easy-to-dismantle design that allows for proper disposal.
